The benchmarks treat a memory write as a security boundary. Authorization requires a dedicated decision. Relevance and prompt-injection scores supply separate signals.

How it works

Mari assigns independent values for origin channel, trust, interpretation, taints, and requested scope. Trust describes provenance. Scope describes visibility. Each field keeps its own meaning.

evaluate_write rejects empty source_ids. It quarantines writes carrying secret, external_instruction, or privilege_amplification taints, plus untrusted writes interpreted as procedures or instructions. Other writes are accepted by this local rule set.

The caller classifies content, supplies taints, and separately checks source authorization, target-scope permission, evidence, and confidence. The function reads declared fields and performs no semantic attack detection. Use inherit_taints(inputs) to carry the union into a derived write. Persist review and promotion decisions with the original provenance.
